These new Tunies debut with a winning project! Dated wood cabinets made the kitchen darker, but satin white shaker doors lighten the space. The curved door and drawer pulls add shape to the straight shaker lines, while black-and-white quartz countertops add eye-catching pattern. A subway tile completes the crisp, clean look.
Andy Thompson and Bobby and Ashley Kuhns - Stevens Point, WI
What a transformation these new shaker doors create! In the shade Snow White, the doors banish the old oak’s yellowed appearance. Countertops in a light stone color provide subtle contrast. This kitchen is a great example of how a backsplash can alter a kitchen. The old backsplash of gray and variegated tiles was darker and busier than the new, sleek white tile backsplash.
A.J. and Judy Taylor - Arvada, CO
Removing a wall and creating a new, open floor plan made this a dramatic change from top to bottom. Kitchen Tune-Up installed recessed panel cabinet doors in maple, painted an elegant pewter shade. A large island shows off rich, marble-look countertops while housing the range too. Extras like pantry pull-out shelves make the renovation as functional as it is lovely.

This kitchen’s existing raised panel cabinets were stylish in the 1990s. This upgrade modernizes the kitchen with today’s white shaker doors, then adds needed contrast by making the island a rich gray. The gold hardware is an inspired touch of class. All these changes fit beautifully into the small kitchen’s footprint.

Can you believe the “before” and “after” photos are the same kitchen? This transformation from dark and dated to fresh and airy is a knockout. The raised panel cabinet doors in Snow White are the obvious change, but note the sparkling tile backsplash, the gorgeous flooring, and the useful, beautiful recessed lighting in the coffered ceiling! Hidden bonuses like roll-outs, trash pull-outs, and added shelving make this kitchen more functional too.

The client’s priority was functionality, and Charlie and Susan's Kitchen Tune-Up team obliged with cabinets creating more storage. The old raised panel doors are gone, refreshed with new white shaker doors. A deep crown molding on top of the upper cabinets adds height and distinction. New countertops in a stone color replace the old gray countertops.

The client wanted to keep these pretty cabinets but chose to swap their maple finish for white paint. The result is bright and bold. The existing backsplash, lost among the wood tones, now pops out against the white cabinets. The Bennet's team also sandblasted the clear glass in the upper cabinet doors, to create a “frosted” look.
